This week I made a simple project, a little birds next. My grandmother is so sweet and gives me magazines to look at and I got this fun idea out of a Country Living magazine.
Continue reading to see how to make one for your self!
What you need:
- Glue
- Various bowl sizes
- Bowl of water
- Shredded paper (for brown use paper lunch bags, for colored anything works! in the magazine they did a dictionary for a cool letter nest)
- Plastic bags (they used plastic wrap in the magazine)
- A cookie sheet
- In the picture there is paint, I thought if I added paint to the glue/water mix it would kind of dye the paper...didn't work, maybe if you used all white paper and more paint...maybe a project for another day!
Cover bowl and cookie sheet with plastic bag and place bowl upside down on cookie sheet.
Mix glue and water together, (sorry I have no clue how much, I just guessed). Then put the shredded paper in the glue mixture.
Take shredded paper out in little clumps and smooth on covered bowl, let paper drip off extra water before putting on the upside down bowl. I found that putting one layer on and then checking for any open spots helped and then building the base so it would be stronger.
Let dry overnight or longer (mine where still wet in the morning) take bowl out of bag and gently peel off the plastic, find a fun spot for it fill with cute eggs and you have a simple cute birds nest!
