Sharing Monday 10

Thanks to everyone who joined the party last week.
I visited all the submissions but I am having issues commenting on blogs, I know I am not the only one having this issue...has anyone figured out how to fix this?

Well here are my favorites, I had a hard time narrowing it down this week!

Iron Violet Designs showed us her drop cloth curtains which she screen printed herself!

My mouth is watering over the chocolate chip cookie bake that Dishes and Socks shared.

I am in love with the Sunburst mirror, Girl in Air shared.

Lastly check out this amazing transformation where Conspicuous Style Interior Design shows how she added panelling to her kitchen.

Thanks again for sharing all your fun projects and yummy recipes.
Have fun, link up, and check out others projects!

Nearly Wordless Wednesday: cute baby + cloth diapers = new adventure!

Colten is getting so big!
And we have decided to start doing cloth diapers...here is my favorite diaper I have made so far!
What a cutie!

Winterhawks Cake

Its been a while since I made a cake, so when my uncle decided to have a birthday party and asked if I would bring desert, I knew it was time for another fun cake!
My uncle is a big Winterhawks fan so I knew I had to make a jersey.
It took two days of working, the logo took the longest time, but I am really impressed with how it turned out!
Here is a close up, don't mind the holes left from the candles.

Sharing Monday 9

Well after letting my father, brother and husband work on the computer we have got it back to working with only minor losses. I lost my pictures and videos from 2011, but luckily I have been using some on blog posts, and posting on Facebook, so I only lost a few pictures. The computer isn't completely fixed but enough that I can do a little more blogging. So thanks for your patience, and for joining the last two linky parties!

I also added a link up your own party spot on the linky party page, so if you have a party link up so others can check your party out!

Here are my features from the last two parties!

I love the idea of making a cheeseburger ring which was shared by Jam Hands, when I told my husband about it he asked how soon we could try it out!
I love crafts that look so beautiful but are also easy to make, this Book Wreath by From Gardners to Bergers, is just that elegant and simple.
This one I think is my all time favorite, mostly because I love sushi and I love peeps! Small Fine Print shared her Peepshi which is peeps and other yummy treats made to look like sushi!
Sam would love the lego table Art For Little Hands made for her son, what a fun idea!
Lastly I really want to make this recipe for chocolate bon bons, by Hungry Homebody, but I know I really shouldn't!

Thank so much for everyone who has been joining the parties, I love to see all the fun things you are up to!

Crafty Thrusday: Make Your Own Pillow Buddy

For Christmas I made Sam a lion pillow buddy, after seeing the lion one my sister asked if I would make her a bear pillow buddy. I followed a fellow bloggers tutorial to make the first one,  but I had a really hard time with it because you hand sewed the head and eyes on after everything was done which was really hard and not very secure and the head popped off a few days later, so I figured out a different way to sew the head on. Warning there are lots of photos!
So if you want to make your own pillow buddy this is what you need:
  • 1/2 to 1 yard of main fabric
  • 1/2 yard of second color (brown on mine) for face and feet
  • 1/4 yard (that's the smallest I could get) for nose fabric
  • Upholstery thread (helps with hard play!)
  • Embroidery thread
  • 1 bag of pillow stuffing
  • Hook and Loop tape
  • Fabric or buttons for eyes
  • Optional: Felt for paws on feet.
  • Large Paper for making pattern

Win for Store Brand Formula

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of storebrandformula.com for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am a very dedicated breastfeeding mommy, but I try to keep up with what formulas are best for baby, incase I ever had to switch.

I never really knew which formulas were better than others, and from commercials I assumed the more you paid the better you got. After reading an article about how Mead Johnson (the maker of Enfamil) lost $13.5 million dollars for false advertising my opinion has been changed.

From what the article says, Enfamil was advertised as superior to store brand, but it was found that their formula offered the same nutrients at the same level as the store brand formula.

For more information check out the article for yourself.

There is a great website called storebrandformula.com I love the website because they talk about how breastfeeding is best for your baby but if you have to switch to formula it is a safe alternative, and that you can save around $600 by using store brand formulas.

Now I have never used formula for my babies and I haven't personally tested the formulas to see how they compare with each other, so tell me, what do you think of this win for store brand formulas, do you think they really are equal? Do you have a formula you love?

We got out our jumper out and though hes not ready for jumping, he did like chewing!

Sam got a backpack for Christmas, lately he has been putting EVERYTHING in it. If anything is missing check in there! At one point he had 14 pens in his backpack, a pile of junk mail, an old phone, sunglasses and much much more!
He keeps saying he is going to school or he is on a soccer team. What a cutie!
